A Word from Rémy

Hello Blogging World,

I thought I would stop by and see what all the fuss is about. I've been having a bit of a rough week here in SA. A stomach bug has made itself comfortable in my tummy, and to top it all off I have a pimple. It seems I'm going through puberty or something awful like that. To get through it, I've been enjoying lots of snuggle and play time with momma and daddy. Hope your weekend was better than mine. Only four days till momma is on summer vacation, and I have her all to myself.

Countdown to Rémy's Birthday Pt. 1

In about two weeks and some-odd days our precious Rémy will turn one. This event is making me get down to it and edit all of the videos we have taken of him. If you don't know us (or Rémy) yes we know he is only a dog he is like our child. Please don't throw-up too much.

Puppy Love

You all know our pride and joy, Rémy. Well if you can believe it, he will be a whole year old in March. This dog momma is just in shock. Rémy is beloved by all of our family members, and if I didn't know that already, then after Super Bowl Sunday I had zero doubts. Joe and I had about ten text messages about Rémy's debut commercial for sketchers (it was really some other dog named Mr. Quiggly). Our little pup has been a wonderful addition to our family. As one of our dear family friends, Jeff Ralston would say: "You'll never regret getting a dog". True that.

Can you tell my new obsession is making Gifs?

On the Fifth Date of Christmas...

The Fifth Date of Christmas:

... my true love and I had a Christmas feast. Joseph made me braised lamb shank, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli, french bread, and a bottle of prosecco. I helped a bit, and we always enjoy cooking together. Perhaps a continuation of our date, this morning we went and bought our "babies" (Rémy & Bella) some Christmas treats. It is going to be so hard we actually have human babies- I'm going to want to buy them everything.

We are heading on our sixth date in about an hour to the San Antonio symphony's holiday pops concert. I'm so excited!

Happy December!

Happy December, and Happy Christmas!

I have lots to post on: the beginning of the holiday season, our Thanksgiving festivities, and our very sick kitty. It's all coming, hopefully later this evening since I will be a single girl for the night, but alas I must go to work. Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas!

A Kid Again

Today is the last day before Thanksgiving vacation. How will we manage to get through the day? By wearing braids in our hair & indian hats, watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, coloring Turkeys, and singing Over the River and Through the Woods gleefully.  As a student I thought I needed Thanksgiving vacation, now that I'm on the other side it is dire!

We are heading to College Station this afternoon for the Aggie game tomorrow. My mom is coming to pick up Rémy because we can't have him at the hotel we are staying at. I have to admit, this 'mom' is a bit nervous. After CS I am headed back to Houston to spend the week with family (Joe will meet me on Wednesday). I could hardly sleep I was so excited. It's going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Rémy had a bath last night... he didn't enjoy it too much.

The Cone of Shame

Last Friday we had Rémy neutered. Everything went just fine, and he is most definitely good as new. One of the consequences of being neutered is having to wear the cone of shame for ten days. Poor guy. He's pretty entertaining though. All of these pics are taken the day of the surgery. He was so loopy and sluggish that not even a churro would make him budge.

For Funsies

While we were at J's family reunion we let Rémy try his luck at swimming. Frenchies are typically unable to swim, but lo and behold our little guy did the impossible. Actually Rémy really hated it, but like all good moms I made him do it anyway. Enjoy our fun pictures in motion!

My Inspiration

Apparently I draw much of my blogging inspiration, or maybe motivation, from Joe. He has been in D.C. since Saturday and I haven't had blogging on my mind. This week has been slightly eventful, enough to keep me from going stir crazy till my Mr. gets home. I did some shopping, some working, and some nursing our sick pup. He got a little stomach bug, and I think the culprits are the acorns he has been sneaking when we go potty. Sheesh. He had me worried for a bit, but after a swift visit to the vet I was reassured. This weekend is quite long awaited. We are finally heading back to Aggieland. Just typing it makes me giddy. I have been dreaming of CStat for months. We are bringing Rémy, and I can't wait to strut him around campus on Friday evening. I'm sure we will have hundreds of photos. Most importantly we are going to watch the fightin' Texas Aggies BTHO idaho. Joe gets home tomorrow and I am so ready. If you think of it, please keep him in your prayers.

This was my first aggie game.

So Long Sweet Summer

Today was the first day of fall- for me anyway. My summer job of nannying ended, and I have now entered the world of subbing again. I already have several days lined up, and I'm really hoping I work pretty regularly until my extended position in late October. In a way the beginning of a new school year feels like more of a fresh start than January 1, and today I have been thinking a lot about what this "new year" will hold. It is looking like another move is in our near future. The move may be just two miles north to midtown, or it could be much farther north, to say... D.C. Here's hoping (or dreaming).  In the much nearer future, FOOTBALL SEASON will FINALLY begin. I can't wait to put our Rémy in a little Aggie jersey, and actually attend a game on September 17th! We are also planning a trip to New Orleans for our first vacation since our honeymoon. It is going to be great fun! Here is to a great fall, and hopefully some cooler weather.

Our summer began in Gainesville, and Rémy looked like this.

We ended it, and Rémy looks like this.
