A Goodbye to 2010

What a year 2010 has been. It is almost overwhelming to think about all that has occurred. One neat about having our wedding on January 2 was that the beginning of 2010 was truly a new start. We began the new year as husband and wife, and 2010 will always hold a special place in my heart. When I look back on news stories etc. it reminds me of a place in our first year of marriage. It reminds me of new excitements and experiences. The transformation that has occurred in my heart is the most exciting. Everyday I have learned something about being a Godly wife, and how this effects the rest of my relationship with the Lord. He is so good and I am so thankful for the gift of 2010. Of course these eight pictures can't even begin to adequately express all that 2010 was, here it goes. There was the most wonderful day of our lives, road trips, birthdays, lots of baking and cooking, Aggie football, Christmas, and lots of love.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all enjoyed time with your loved ones. We sure did. Today we will be going to our third Christmas celebration. How great is that!

Luke 2: 7-14

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “ Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

A Look Back...

It's strange to think that Joe and I have lived in two different apartments in our short year of marriage. Each home holds special memories, and I will look fondly on both of them. We are so excited about the apartment we have leased in San Antonio. It is wonderfully modern and cool. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown, and the neighborhood even looks walking friendly. As we approach our one year anniversary, I can't help myself but reminisce. Here are some pictures from our first homes.

I'm a Graduate!

On Saturday I had the honor to graduate from one of the best universities in the country, Texas A&M. It was such a surreal, fun day. I'm so thankful to everyone who was a part of it. A special thanks to my masa, Sandra who came all the way from Latvia! We were also in the middle of moving out of our apartment- thank you so much Uncle Bill, Phil, Pete & Mel etc for all of your help! We really couldn't have done it without you! Here are some pics:

We're headin' out west!

We are so excited to announce that.... (drum roll) we are moving to the great city of San Antonio. Joe has been offered a position with Accenture (one of the largest IT consulting firms in the world). God's timing couldn't have been more perfect: Joe had the confirming interview on December 8th, Filled out the government security check list on December 13th, Got the official offer on December 17th, I graduated on December 18th, He will start on January 10th. It has been a long, hard wait, but it is such a blessing to be able to look back and see the Lord's hand moving. We will spend the holidays with our families in Houston with our family and head to San Antonio January 7th ish. I am continuing to search for a job, but trust in our almighty God to provide.

"My presence will go [with you], and I will give you rest."

My BFF Jill

Last night I went out to dinner with my dear friend Jillian. We went to the Olive Garden, split the fettucini alfredo, and enjoyed salad and bread sticks (our usual). We have done this numerous times before, but this time was a little different. On wednesday Jillian is leaving to go to California, for good. This was our "see you later" dinner. Thank goodness I will see her wednesday, so I wasn't a basket case. We have known each other since the fourth grade and have been best friends ever since. I have not laughed, cried, been scared, etc with anyone more than Jill. We have experienced so much life together, and I can't believe we will be thousand of miles away from each other. Joe and I are in the middle of some big changes as well (more info to come later) and it seems appropriate that we are going through the same type of thing. I love you so much Jill, and will miss you terribly.

These pics date back to 2006.
