Snow, Snow, Snow!

Snow is in the forecast for D.C./Alexandria on Saturday. I really can't imagine snow in October. It is a mind boggling thing for this Texas girl who has only seen snow herself a handful of times. I know this goes without saying, but I'm ecstatic about living in a region with seasons and most especially snow! I know the day will come when I will complain about this magical gift of nearly frozen precipitation; however, until that moment (most likely to be in winter 2012-2013) I will bask in sweet anticipation. I promise all of my posts will not revolve around D.C. from now until June; but, cut me some slack- we just got the news Monday!

A beautiful snow covered Lincoln Memorial.
Charming row houses in Old Town, Alexandria, where we will call home sweet home.

Still a proud San Antonian,

90 Years of Joe McPhail

On October 10th Joe's Grandpa (his namesake) turned ninety years old. Grandpa Joe is an amazing man. He served our country selflessly and his family even more so. He has been such a blessing in Joe's life, and I am so grateful to be a part of his family.

Washington D.C. is for Lovers

It seems that in the near future our city is to really become our city. We have always known that a relocation to Washington D.C. (more specifically Alexandria, VA) would be a possibility. Well, in June of 2012 roughly that will become a reality. The past four weeks have been filled with Joe speaking with various bosses here in San Antonio and also there in Virginia, and on today we got an answer... finally. We couldn't be happier about the move. All we have prayed for in this situation is God's will, and His answer was wait... till early summer. I can't wait to see what God has for us in our remaining months in San Antonio. It must be big. The Lord has just waived His peace over me this evening. A weight has most definitely been lifted off of our shoulders. This afternoon while Joe was having his meeting via the telephone, Rémy and I went for a run. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person, but I was praying out loud. This week we are talking about names of God in my class. (I have a verse for every week that each class discusses, what a blessing). Anywho- I ended my run/prayer time just stating over and over the names of God- may his will be the desires of our heart.

February 2011, visiting Joe on location.

January 2010, our honeymoon. If you had told me then I wouldn't have believed it!

Eight months and counting!

Swinging

Joe and I have been in Houston since wednesday to celebrate the life of my grandpa, 'Papa'. It has been a sweet time with family and we have gotten to play with these two bundles of cuteness a lot. It has been a whirlwind week, and I have posts oozing out of me. More on Joe's Grandpa's 90th, the life of Papa, the Houston Air Show, and home movies later. We are all going to my home church this morning, and I'm quite excited!

So Long Summer

Happy October!

This morning as I was walking to my car I actually felt a chill in the air. I couldn't believe it. It was actually bellow sixty degrees. W-O-W! It was incredibly refreshing, and put me in a wonderful fall mood. I listened to holiday music (please don't judge me), looked up recipes during my conference period, put a pair of corduroys on hold at Anthro, and walked around with an extra bounce in my step.

This afternoon as I was hitting that only one more class period left slump, I was surprised to be delivered these beautiful flowers. They are from my Aunt and her family in Houston. I was so surprised! Thank Y'all, they are gorgeous and make my room so much more cheery.

Hope October is treating you well so far!

Happy 25th!

A very Happy 25th Birthday, to my most favorite person on this earth. Joe is an amazing man, and I'm so blessed to call him husband and best friend. Among countless others, some of his incredible attributes are: loyalty, thoughtfulness, loving, SWEET, funny, hard worker, and steadfast.
We had a wonderful weekend with part of his family. It amazes me how much love we have in our lives. We are BLESSED! I will post all about his spoils in a week or so, but they are pretty good.

Joe,

I love more than words can express. Thank you for choosing me. I am so grateful to have you in my life. Happy 25th Birthday!

All my love- always,

Your
