Good Friday

"The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. The clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying 'Hail, king of the Jews!' and they struck him in the face."

John 19:2,3

"Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified."

Mark 15:15

"When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified Him, along with the criminals-- one on the right, the other on his left. Luke 23:33-34,46

"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks spolit. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened they were terrified, and exclaimed, 'Surely he was the Son of God'."
