A Whole lotta McPhails

This past weekend was one that I know will be in Joe's and my memory for the rest of our days. We were blessed to attend the McPhail Family Reunion. McPhail is Joe's mom's maiden name. Our little family (Joe, myself, and Rémy) headed up 281 north on Thursday afternoon, and enjoyed three days in a log cabin on Lake LBJ with 30 or so of Joe's closest relatives. It is always interesting to see who looks like who, and meet (or catch up) with long lost relatives (or in-laws). Two of the highlights for Joe and I was seeing his cousin Holly and Uncle Mike, and kicking of the celebration of his Grandpa's 90th birthday. Of course there are too many great stories to share them all, but here are a few. Everyday had one common factor (besides family) POOL!  It was great to relax, and play, in the pool for hours on end with essentially nothing else to do.  Who knew a cave could be so entertaining, as well as interesting and educational. We had a blast exploring Longhorn Cavern! Another highlight was water aerobics with all the ladies. It was too funny, and actually turned out to be a pretty good workout. By far the most special time we all shared together was the surprise party we had for Grandpa. You can read more about it here on Joe's cousin's blog.

We did not get the whole poem on video, but it is on the link I shared above. Thank you Mary, Karen, and Terry for organizing this much needed event. I do not take your family (or you all) for granted. You are dear to my heart. Thank you for welcoming me with such warm and loving arms.
