Sniffles

It is runny nose and chills city over here in our little row house. I have been fighting a cold for a couple of weeks and it seems it is finally coming to fruition.  Seriously I'm wearing gloves and a scarf. My poor kiddies did not get the best me today, and unfortunately I could not. call. in. I'm sure everyone on the metro appreciated my sneezing and nose blowing...not. Thankfully there was a seat coming and going or I would have had to knock somebody out! It's times like these when I really just miss my momma. Don't get me wrong, Joe is great and loving and incredibly gracious; but, there is nothing like the care of your mom.
I remember she would put sheets and the big blue quilt on the couch and make me iced tea with lime (okay I know my mom is crying by now, and honestly so am I). I would give my left arm for some good old southern iced tea with lime. She would get me whatever I wanted to eat, which was usually a baked potato and cream of chicken soup, but sometimes it was a McDonald's cheeseburger and fries.
I also remember when my mom would say "I wish my mom could come take care of me." Of course, I couldn't understand and probably still don't to the full extent, but I do somewhat now.
Thanks mom for all of the late nights, selfless love, and well- memories.
I miss you.
